L2 i-CON 1st Anniversary Virtual Conference 2021 held on 30th March 2021 was not an ordinary webinar. This virtual conference was another level of visual sensation and an eye-opening virtual event with 3D stage resembling physical conference appearance, broadcasted live on social media.
It was truly inspiring to hear from 12 distinguished guests from different walks of life and from all over the world to share their thoughts on Digital Learning, Property Technology, Construction Technology, Legal Technology and ADR Digitalisation. There is no doubt that digitalisation is happening right now, and it is the way forward. It is also one of L2 i-CON’s aspirations, which is to lead and drive digital transformation in the industry.

There are 2 major concerns to be addressed by arbitral institution – the needs for specialists to propose digital solutions for a virtual proceeding, and manage cyber security risks due to confidentiality of an arbitration proceeding.
Tan Swee Im, International Arbitrator Member of 39 Essex Chambers (KL) – digitalisation in arbitration proceeding requires deep diving more into the actual details of what is needed and what we should be doing for efficiency and accuracy in navigating these details. We can’t consider going digital, we have to go digital, because we have no choice. Greener arbitration is the way forward.
